Second of all, an update on life.

I'm am in my senior year of college, I will be graduating in May, I can't believe that is coming up so soon. I spent last summer doing research on copepods in Newport, Oregon and I presented my research a tri-beta (BBB) regional conference. BBB is a biology honors society. I won first place for oral presentations, and my friend Kat won third place. I get a grant to present at the national conference next May in Colorado.

Thirdly I HAVE AN INTERNSHIP THIS SUMMER!!!

I'm really excited about interning at the Oceans of Fun in the Milwaukee County Zoo this summer. It's unpaid, but of course there aren't many paying opportunities that give you animal experience. My friend and I both got it, so we are pretty excited to be spending our time working around sea lions this summer. Hopefully this is my foot into the door for what I want to do with my life. Some of my professors have expressed that they feel I'm selling myself short, they want to see me go to graduate school. I may go eventually, I don't see why I have to go right now. I don't quite understand why they aren't happy for me because this internship is giving me the opportunity to do what I've been wanting since I started college, and why I chose to get a Biology degree. Anyway, in the end, it is my life, and I'm excited about the internship.

Art Status:
-I'm wrapping up my entry for Okura's contest!
-Still working on Lunchi's dragon character (dragons are hard!!!)

A THANK YOU TO MY WATCHERS I APPRECIATE YOU SPENDING TIME TO LOOK AT MY ART!

Wow! Congrats on both the grant and the internship!!!
First place eh? Wicked! :D

Warning... Personal Rant on the Way
I say go for your dream... I know exactly how it feels to let someone get in the way (or several someones as the case may be)... and it totally sucks. If I had the chance to do a few things over again, there is a lot I would do differently. If working with animals is what you want, go for it, and don't let anything stop you!

Thanks! :D :glomp:

So that's it, then? That's the secret grand adventure of the infamous Jack Sparrow. You spent three days lying on a beach, drinking rum? :o
:ahoy: Welcome to the Caribbean, love. :sun:

Congratulations on graduating.
By the way, I'm a marine bio major. I'm attending CSULB.
:iconaquaorca:
Thanks. I wouldn't have guess that you were into marine biology! Do you like the program/university?

I may not look like it, but I've been into marine bio from as far back as I can remember.

CSULB is a nice university, but I plan to transfer to the University of Humboldt someday.

Well ever since I can remember and ever since I could draw, I've been remembered as the dolphin/whale girl, lol.

I may go to graduate school at some point. I would want to find the right place. I go to a small liberal arts undergraduate college. I really like the small, one on one atmosphere.

The dolphin/whale girl, that an adorable nickname for you.
One of the best places for graduate school would be The Scripts Institute of Oceanography.

Orcas in captivity are like new creatures in a strange new environment. As for the rest far, flung and mysterious, they are only as safe as the air they breath and the oceans they roam. In the long run, if we are to save the whales we must save their world, and are own.

I can't wait to see the movie EARTH, which will be released on April 22nd.
